Bluetooth Headphones drop in Audio Quality when Running a game

I primarily use my Skullcandy Hesh ANC headphones with my gaming desktop running Windows 11. For the most part, they perform similarly to how they did with Windows 10, delivering quality audio. However, the issue arises when I launch a game. Every game I’ve tested, including but not limited to Modern Warfare, Doom Eternal, and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, presents the same problem.

While watching a YouTube video in Chrome, the audio sounds perfectly normal, as expected. However, as soon as I start Modern Warfare, the quality drops significantly, making the audio from the YouTube video sound like it’s being played through a phone call. The audio quality only returns to normal after I exit the game. I also experience a similar issue when I launch Discord, but only briefly; the audio quality reverts to normal after a few seconds.

On Windows 10, I had two separate outputs for my headphones: one labeled “Headphones (Hesh ANC)” and the other “Headset (Hesh ANC).” In the volume panel on Windows 10, I could easily switch between these options. The “Headphones” option provided normal audio, while the “Headset” option resulted in the low-quality audio I am currently experiencing on Windows 11 when running any game. However, on Windows 11, I notice that “Headset (Hesh ANC)” is missing from the list of outputs in the volume control. I only see the “Headphones (Hesh ANC)” option, which does not provide the consistent audio quality I expect.

I have attempted troubleshooting both the sound and Bluetooth connections. I have also tried updating the drivers and exploring the advanced properties under System > Sound > Properties for my device in the Windows 11 settings. Enabling “Enhance audio” has not resolved the issue. Please help me fix my Bluetooth audio problems.
