Samsung announced the Galaxy Buds 3 FE today, marking the latest addition to its Fan Edition lineup. A release in the U.S. is scheduled for September 4. Priced at $149.99, the Buds 3 FE incorporates several high-end features from Samsung’s flagship earbuds, such as Galaxy AI, Crystal Clear Call, and Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), making them more accessible.
The earbuds boast IP54 water resistance and feature pinch/swipe controls via a stem-based blade design, closely resembling the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro. Audio enhancements include a larger one-way dynamic driver compared to the previous Galaxy Buds FE, as well as support for 24-bit Hi-Fi sound. Samsung claims the ANC system has been improved to effectively reduce ambient noise, while the Crystal Clear Call technology utilizes a pre-trained machine learning model to isolate your voice. The repositioned microphones are designed to enhance voice pickup, now facing towards the user’s mouth.
With support for Gemini and Galaxy AI, the Buds 3 FE can manage voice commands, calendar inquiries, and real-time translation using the Interpreter app on Galaxy devices. Samsung highlights hands-free convenience with features like Auto Switch, Find My Earbuds, and direct access from any Galaxy device screen, even without the app open.
Battery life is reportedly enhanced, offering up to 8.5 hours of playback with ANC off, 6 hours with ANC on, and up to 30 hours total when using the charging case. This would give the Buds 3 FE the longest runtime in the Galaxy Buds lineup to date. Additionally, the case and earbuds are lighter, weighing just under 47 grams combined, with each earbud weighing 5 grams.
The Galaxy Buds 3 FE will be available in Black and Gray, featuring a matte dual-tone finish and semi-transparent accents, as opposed to the White and Silver colors of the Galaxy Buds 3 and 3 Pro. Samsung is also offering up to $30 off with any trade-in of wired or wireless headphones. The Buds3 Pro May Not be as Good as the New Samsung Galaxy Buds3 FE.
