It has been two years since Bose introduced its QuietComfort Ultra headphones, a high-end pair that swiftly rose to the top of my list for the finest wireless headphones. Exceptionally comfortable, they featured some of the most impressive noise cancellation I encountered when I reviewed them in 2023.
Now, Bose is returning with the second-generation model of its flagship over-ear headphones. At first sight, it seems like a rather slight enhancement. Bose has included support for lossless USB-C audio, an even smarter adaptive noise cancellation system, and a new cinema mode aimed at providing clearer dialogue during movies or television shows. These changes seem to be minor upgrades to an already excellent pair of headphones.
So, is the upgrade worthwhile, or do Sony’s WH-1000XM6 still reign supreme? Available for pre-order now, here’s everything you need to know about the new Bose QuietComfort Ultra 2.
