Sony, recognized for producing some of the globe’s most sought-after wireless noise-cancelling headphones, is preparing to enhance functionalities on select models when connected to Samsung’s Galaxy smartphones. If you own a Samsung device equipped with Bluetooth LE Audio, two premium Sony headphones will now enable audio sharing and offer improved compatibility with the AI assistant.
Sony’s leading wireless headphones from 2022 and 2025 are now compatible with Auracast. Sony has revealed that it is introducing several new features for the WF-1000XM5 and WH-1000XM6. These models now support Audio Sharing through Fast Pair on smartphones that utilize Bluetooth LE Audio. This capability allows you to connect two headphones to your Galaxy phone at the same time, enabling both to play the same audio stream. It’s ideal for sharing music wirelessly with a friend. This feature is also available for the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro, Galaxy Buds 3, and Galaxy Buds 3 Pro, allowing simultaneous audio playback on your Galaxy Buds 3 Pro alongside your friend’s Sony WF-1000XM5.
Additionally, you can initiate a private audio broadcast using a QR code or Google Fast Pair. With the latest firmware update, both headphone models will now offer head tracking over a Bluetooth LE Audio connection. To utilize Bluetooth LE Audio, you’ll need to re-pair your Sony headphones with your Galaxy devices.
With Google’s Find Hub app on your Samsung smartphone or tablet, you can separately locate the left and right earbuds of the WF-1000XM5 if they become lost. Both headphone models now also feature Google’s Gemini Live, a conversational AI assistant that allows for continuous dialogue, interruptions mid-conversation, and topic changes.
